Detained Deputy Minister Dismissed from Office
By the decision of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Gevorg Loryan, the Deputy Minister of Sports at the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, has been dismissed from his position. This information is reported by e-gov.am.
The decision states the following: “Guided by part 1 of Article 9 of the Law of the Republic of Armenia on Public Service, Gevorg Loryan is dismissed from the position of Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.”
Loryan was detained at the beginning of December. He is accused of receiving bribes in particularly large amounts and denies the charges against him. The decision to detain him has been appealed in the Court of Appeals.
