Criminal Case Opened Following Death of Four Family Members in Alaverdi

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has opened a criminal case regarding the deaths of four individuals in Alaverdi. This information was confirmed by the Committee.

On December 25, 2019, at 13:45, the Alaverdi Medical Center reported that four residents had been found deceased in an apartment in the Sanahin Sarahrt neighborhood of Alaverdi.

An investigative operative group immediately arrived at the scene, discovering the bodies of spouses Yura Israelian and Gayane Aleksanyan, as well as their two underage children, born in 2002 and 2004.

Examination of the scene revealed that the gas stove was turned on, while the gas alarm system was disconnected from the power source. A criminal case has been initiated under the third part of Article 279 of the RA Criminal Code.

To clarify significant circumstances related to the case, a forensic examination has been ordered, and several individuals have been questioned. The investigative body has been instructed to proceed with the investigation. The preliminary investigation continues.
