Criminal Case Against Alik Petrosyan Sent to Court
The indictment against former MP and known figure of the 'MAP' party, Alik Petrosyan, has been confirmed, and the case has been sent to court. This was reported by Arievik Khachatryan, the head of the Public Relations Department of the Prosecutor's Office, in response to a question from 'Haykakan Zhamanak'.
She also mentioned that the request from Petrosyan's lawyer, Mihran Poghosyan, to change the measure of restraint has been rejected on grounds of being unfounded. Petrosyan is accused of aiding money laundering and is currently in custody.
In our conversation yesterday, his lawyer Mihran Poghosyan provided details about the criminal case, also noting that a bail request has been submitted to the court. Poghosyan stated that they have submitted a complaint to the Prosecutor General, requesting that the matter of Alik Petrosyan's measure of restraint be discussed in case the indictment is confirmed. 'In the petition, we have indicated that the unfounded claims of the Special Investigation Service should not be entertained, and we must act as the Prosecutor's Office and ultimately provide a legal resolution,' said the lawyer.
