What Did Pashinyan Discuss with Businessmen?
The newspaper 'Jowhroudy' reports that a meeting-discussion took place with the private sector at the initiative of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. During the meeting, several issues were raised by the producers.
According to 'Jowhroudy', one of the issues highlighted during the meeting with the businessmen is related to the suspension of economic transactions in cases where the organization has unfulfilled tax obligations amounting to 500,000 AMD. This creates unfavorable conditions for entrepreneurs as a lien is placed on the taxpayer's property.
The Ministry of Economy has developed a draft proposal aimed at amending Article 430, Part 1 of the Tax Code, suggesting that this restriction should apply only if tax arrears fall below a certain threshold. Specifically, the phrase 'if the amount is 500,000 AMD or more' will be replaced with 'if the total of taxes paid in the previous year is 5 percent of the amount, but not less than 3 million AMD or more.'
Businessmen hope that a favorable legal framework will be established for the operational activities of industrial companies.
