Young Man Threatening Suicide Hospitalized

A young man attempted to take his own life today in front of the government building. He threatened to commit suicide by holding a knife to his neck if he did not meet with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The head of the Yerevan State Medical University staff, Shushan Danielyan, reported on her Facebook page that the individual was transported by ambulance to the number 1 university hospital. As a result of self-harm, he sustained injuries to the primary area of his neck. At present, first aid is being provided, and his condition is assessed as satisfactory.

It is noteworthy that the man took this drastic action because, as he stated, an investigator demanded a bribe of $20,000 from his mother to prevent sending "his brothers to prison." According to him, his brothers bought stolen goods without knowing they were stolen, and despite their protests and their denial of guilt, they were sentenced without considering the existing evidence.
