Joint Meeting of Artsakh and Armenia's Security Councils to be Held in Yerevan

The newspaper Hraparak reports that a joint meeting of the Security Councils of Artsakh and Armenia will take place in Yerevan before the end of the year. Officially, it will be stated that the purpose is to summarize the work done since the joint meeting held in early 2019 in Artsakh. However, the real reason for this meeting is the anticipated developments surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh.

It should be noted that the first joint meeting was held in May, just days after the well-known statement by the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, in response to Prime Minister Pashinyan's call to return Artsakh to the negotiating table. They urged all parties to refrain from statements or actions that could "significantly change the situation in the conflict zone." According to their opinion, unilateral changes cannot be demanded in a negotiation format without the consent of the other party.

Interestingly, during the first meeting, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also invited Ararat Mirzoyan, but did not invite President Armen Sarkissian.
