A Criminal Case Has Been Initiated Regarding the Incident at the 'Zhoghovurd' Newspaper
Today, the editorial staff of the 'Zhoghovurd' newspaper reported an invasion of their editorial office, prompting a visit from police officers to the scene. Tert.am inquired with the police press office about the legal status of the recorded incident, which was confirmed to have led to a criminal case being opened under two articles.
According to Edgar Janoyan, the deputy head of the police’s press office, “A criminal case has been initiated by the police regarding the incident you mentioned, under Part 3, Clause 1.1 of Article 34-177 and Article 164, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code.”
It should be noted that Article 34-177 of the RA Criminal Code defines the crime of attempted theft, while Part 1 of Article 164 establishes the obstruction of a journalist's lawful professional activities.
