Medicines Sold in Store Alongside Grocery Items

The Health and Labor Inspection Body of Armenia has initiated administrative proceedings based on a citizen's complaint. According to the complaint, the pharmacy owned by an individual entrepreneur in Argels village of Kotayk province has questionable licensing.

Furthermore, medicines are being sold in the store alongside grocery items, which is considered improper practice. The Health and Labor Inspection Body has informed that inspectors conducted a review at the business in question to ascertain compliance with the legal requirements for the licensing of pharmacies and the retail sale of medicines.

The inspection revealed that the medicines were located in a separated storage area of the store, which violates the regulations established by the Armenian government's decision No. 867 dated June 29, 2002.

In accordance with the Law on Licensing, the head of the Inspection Body submitted a request to the Minister of Health on December 16, 2019, to consider the matter of suspending the license issued to the said company in accordance with the prescribed legal procedures and deadlines.
