There Are Employees Who Do Not Wish to Support Us: Batoyan on Resistance in the Public Sector

Regarding the resistance, yes, there is such resistance. This was stated today by the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Zhanna Batoyan, during a conversation with journalists, addressing Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s recent remarks that there is resistance within the public sector.

“My deputies have been working with us. We have employees who support us, and we have employees who do not wish to support us, either because they lack the necessary capabilities or for other reasons. The others can support us but choose not to. To solve this problem, we have involved new employees and implemented new regulations aimed at incentivizing or holding employees accountable,” said the minister.

She also noted that in this context, proposed structural changes can also be considered. It is planned to create two new departments by merging several existing ones. “We will not have a third gender department,” emphasized the minister.
