BHK Only Voted for Weapons Loan, Says Melkumyan
1. There is a lot of money.
2. You can't use it.
3. You take out money again with interest, not knowing what you will do with it.
With these three points, BHK MP Mikael Melkumyan characterized the government's approach, which intends to take out new loans of $152 million to cover the expenditures of the 2019 budget. Melkumyan reminded that the government had previously stated that there was a surplus of money.
The MP also addressed criticisms that it is the BHK MPs who have supported the loan agreements that have led to Armenia accumulating billions of dollars in debt. Melkumyan stated that the Prosperous Armenia Party has always fundamentally voted against loans. He admitted to voting in favor of the Russian $200 million loan because it was regarding weapons and ammunition and security issues. He also mentioned 1-2 additional loans they supported.
