Armenia Surpasses Post-Soviet States, Except for the Baltic Countries and Georgia
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wrote on his Facebook page: “In the 2019 Legatum Prosperity Index by the British analytical institute, Armenia has surpassed all post-Soviet states, except for the Baltic countries and Georgia. Armenia has ranked 61st, improving its position by 27 points compared to the previous year.
Among the countries in the region, Georgia is in 53rd place, Russia in 74th, Turkey in 91st, Azerbaijan in 92nd, and Iran in 119th.
The authors of the ranking compare countries based on nine criteria: the level of economic development, business environment, effectiveness of government management, education level, healthcare, security and personal freedom, as well as social capital and environmental development criteria.”
