Crucial Decision for Thousands of Families, Says Defense Ministry Spokesperson

The spokesperson for the Armenian Ministry of Defense, Artur Hovhannisyan, stated on his Facebook page: "Today, a meeting of the Soldiers' Insurance Fund took place at the Ministry of Defense. During the meeting, a decision was made to undertake efforts to significantly expand the list of beneficiaries of the fund. Specifically, it is planned that from January 1, 2020, compensations will also be provided to the relatives of those who were involved in incidents prior to 1998. I would like to remind that up to now, compensations were applicable only for incidents that occurred before 2008. This is indeed a crucial decision for thousands of families."
