Official Calls Citizen a Lowlife, Who Are You: Ani Khachatryan
The Yerevan City Council's meeting today was quite heated. Ani Khachatryan, a member of the 'Luminous' faction, stated that the head of the city's trade and service department, Hovik Safaryan, continues to act like a former police officer.
According to Khachatryan, Safaryan showed disrespect when speaking to a citizen engaged in mobile commerce, calling him a lowlife. ‘Two men wearing dark glasses are talking to citizens in an indecent manner. Another citizen approaches, and the department head says, 'Lowlife, who are you to ask for my name and surname? I am the department head,’ she reported.
Khachatryan further claimed that Hovik Safaryan had contacted his former colleagues and said that he was bringing someone. ‘He is a former police officer, so his behavior hasn’t changed; he calls and says he is bringing a misunderstanding to the department. But do you have the authority to bring someone to the department? You are instructing the police to put handcuffs on them. You are trying to use your old connections to erase the recording, but I found out very quickly, and that didn't happen,’ she added.
It is noteworthy that Hovik Safaryan did not respond to the council session's comments.
