Iravunk: The Party Was Being Taken Away from Raffi Hovhannisyan
«Iravunk» newspaper writes: “Why has Raffi Hovhannisyan, who is completely detached from politics, re-engaged in active party work? The political capital that was squandered in the past is unlikely to be restored today, so what has disturbed Hovhannisyan?
The reason for returning to active politics is not to support the government or to fight against former officials; rather, it is simply to act as a mediator. ‘Neither Mr. Pashinyan nor I are the first or last; we must prepare a new Armenia together for the future. Our goal is not to follow the path of personal rule or tyrannical power, but rather to prepare a new Republic of Armenia for the next generation,’ stated Raffi Hovhannisyan.
In reality, the founder of the ‘Heritage’ party does not have an insatiable desire for mediation; according to our information, he has sensed a threat of losing the party. To prevent his ‘gained-saved’ political entity from definitively slipping from his hands, he is again trying to take personal charge of the party leadership.
What fate awaits the restructured party will be revealed in time, as Hovhannisyan himself says, when that ‘next generation’ arrives.”
