Yerevan Municipality Buys Extremely Expensive Benches and Trash Bins
According to the newspaper "Jamanak", the Yerevan Municipality has purchased extremely expensive benches and trash bins. The newspaper has discovered that the municipality is collaborating with the commercial organization "Nik Toulman". For instance, on August 20, a contract worth 82 million 200 thousand drams was signed with this organization for the procurement of 500 wooden and bronze benches labeled "Yerevan", each costing 164 thousand 400 drams. Previously, the city authorities of Yerevan had also acquired trash bins from the same "Nik Toulman" at a price of 78 thousand drams each.
The founders of "Nik Toulman" are former Deputy Minister of Urban Development Karren Gevorgyan from the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, former Minister of Urban Development and current parliament member from the Prosperous Armenia party Vardan Vardanian, and their associate Arsen Hayrapetyan.
David Khajakyan, the head of the "Luyc" faction in the Yerevan Council, commented to the newspaper regarding this transaction, stating that there are problematic provisions in the procurement process, and he has requested clarification from the city authorities but has not yet received a response.
