Arman Arakelyan Convicted of Killing Azerbaijani to Be Transferred to Armenia
Arman Arakelyan, who was sentenced to 18 years in prison in Russia for killing an Azerbaijani, is set to be transferred to Armenia. This was reported to NEWS.am by his son, Gurgen Arakelyan.
“The transfer will take place in 1-2 months; there is a specific process regarding the transfer that is not yet complete,” he said.
It should be noted that Russia has been ready to transfer Arakelyan to Armenia, but the former Minister of Justice, Artak Zeynalyan, deemed it inappropriate.
Recall that Arman Arakelyan has been serving his sentence in a Murmansk prison for 4 years after he killed an Azerbaijani who had insulted Armenians and vandalized pictures of Armenian national heroes hanging on the wall in his coffee shop.
Earlier, it was reported that his son and relatives held a protest in front of the government, demanding the organization of Arakelyan's extradition.
