Issues in the 'Sevan' and 'Abovyan' Prisons
The head of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of Armenia, General-Major Artur Goyunyan, accompanied by deputy chiefs and justice colonels Robert Minasian and Vardges Tsaghikyan, visited the 'Sevan' and 'Abovyan' prisons again on September 27. This visit aimed to check the implementation of the directives given for solving the problems identified during previous working visits to the penitentiary institutions.
The head of the penitentiary service toured the facilities and expressed satisfaction with the timely and proper execution of the directives issued during the previous visit.
During the visit to the 'Abovyan' prison, the service chief also spoke with the juvenile detainees, listening to their issues and particularly emphasizing the importance of receiving a comprehensive education.
It is worth mentioning that on September 25, two female inmates attempted to escape from the 'Abovyan' penitentiary.
