Enhanced Monitoring for Arrivals from Armenia in Ural Due to Anthrax Concerns
In Yekaterinburg’s Koltsovo International Airport, sanitary and hygienic controls have been intensified for transport and passengers arriving from Armenia to Sverdlovsk Oblast, linked to reported cases of anthrax in Armenia.
The press service of the Rosselkhoznadzor has issued a statement naming the regions where outbreaks of the disease have been recorded. "Two outbreaks of anthrax have been identified among the residents of Geghhovit in the Martuni region and the village of Getashen in the Armavir region of the Republic of Armenia, totaling 13 cases of the disease," the Rosselkhoznadzor announcement stated.
It was also noted that one case of anthrax related to these outbreaks has been identified in Russia. According to the Armenian National Center for Food Safety, in a conversation with Aurora News, there is nothing to be concerned about.
