A Contract Soldier Who Committed Suicide Had 2 Sisters and 1 Brother

A contract soldier has committed suicide in the barn of a house in one of the villages of the Tavush region. This was reported to "Haykakan Jamanak" by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, Artsrun Hovhannisyan.

Hovhannisyan noted that an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of the incident.

The contract soldier, Armen Nerkagharian, was from the village of Gndzakar in the Tavush region and was 21 years old. In our conversation, the mayor of Gndzakar, Vardges Dovlatbekyan, stated that it is still unclear what the reason for the suicide was. When asked about the family's social situation, Dovlatbekyan replied, “They were engaged in animal husbandry as a family, he was a contract soldier. They were a decent family, making a living from their work.”

According to the mayor, Nerkagharian was not married and had 2 sisters and 1 brother.
