Man Strikes Villager in the Face with Metal Rod
The investigation into a case of intentionally causing serious harm to a fellow villager has concluded at the Investigative Committee's Stepanavan division in the Lori region of Armenia.
According to the press service of the Investigative Committee, several circumstances surrounding the incident have been clarified through investigative actions conducted during the pre-trial proceedings.
On August 9, 2019, around 8 a.m., a dispute arose among villagers in the vicinity of the Apaven village over a grazing area for cattle. During the argument, one of the villagers, born in 1976, struck another villager in the right and left sides of the face using a blunt, hard object—a metal rod—deliberately causing life-threatening serious injury.
Based on the sufficient evidence collected, charges have been filed against the 43-year-old resident of Lori under Part 1 of Article 112 of the Armenian Criminal Code. A signature not to leave has been selected as a preventive measure against him. The completion of the investigation has been announced, and the criminal case has been forwarded to the prosecutor overseeing the legality of the investigation with a request to confirm the indictment and send it to court.
