Details on the Tragic Accident in Charentsavan
The Investigative Committee of Armenia's Kotayk region has initiated a criminal case under the second part of Article 242 of the RA Criminal Code regarding the tragic accident that occurred in Charentsavan. As part of the investigation led by the investigator's decision, several expert examinations have been appointed, including forensic medical and automotive technical examinations, to determine the speed of the BMW X5 at the time of its collision with the KamAZ truck.
According to shamshyan.com, following the collision, a fire broke out that was visible from 200-300 meters away. Only after the firefighters extinguished the flames was the charred body of the driver, 22-year-old Davit Arzumanyan from Abovyan Street in Yerevan, found in the vehicle.
The horrific and tragic accident occurred on September 10 in the Kotayk region. At approximately 06:40, emergency calls were made to the operational management centers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Road Police, reporting that a car was on fire on the 35th kilometer of the Yerevan-Sevan highway, in the administrative territory of Charentsavan.
The fire and rescue unit No. 42 of Charentsavan arrived on the scene, led by duty shift head Armen Brutyan. Officers from the second police battalion's third platoon of the traffic police, commanded by Arthur Petrosyan and Sergeant Sargis Bagratyan, also arrived.
It was discovered that the driver of the BMW X5 with license plate 50 OT 101 had collided with the rear end of a KamAZ truck with license plate 676 LС 23 transporting diesel fuel while heading towards Sevan. As a result of the collision, a fire erupted in the vehicle, and the BMW X5 was completely reduced to ashes.
Firefighters, after extinguishing the fire, discovered the fully charred body of the driver within the vehicle. The Road Police 1-77 operational management center was notified about the accident by responsible officer Yervand Aleksanyan, leading to the dispatch of an operational group headed by the chief of the Charentsavan police division, Armen Israelian.
The investigative team from the Kotayk regional investigative department, headed by its chief, Ashot Melkumyan, examined the accident scene. Hrach Ghazaryan, the deputy chief of the Kotayk regional investigative department, and Haik Davtyan, the deputy commander of the second police battalion, also arrived at the scene.
