Passenger on Yerevan-Moscow Flight Claims There is a Bomb in Hand Luggage
On September 9, 2019, during the boarding of flight 908 of Sibir Airlines from Yerevan to Moscow, a passenger claimed that there was a bomb in their hand luggage, but did not make any demands.
This was reported by the Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia. According to the information guide, the airport's aviation security service and police were immediately notified.
Following the alarm, the passenger was isolated by the aviation security personnel, their hand luggage was confiscated for inspection, and all passengers on the aircraft were disembarked. A comprehensive search of the passengers, their hand luggage, checked baggage, cargo, and the aircraft itself was conducted.
During the inspection, prohibited items, objects, substances, and equipment for air transport were not found. The passenger has been handed over to the police department of Zvartnots Airport, and an investigation is underway.
