Livestock Killed by Freight Train in Ararat Region
An extraordinary incident occurred today in the Ararat region. At approximately 1:20 AM, the Masis police department received a call from South Caucasian Railways LLC, reporting that train number 1620 had struck a flock of sheep on the 591st km of the Masis-Artashat road.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, police clarified that at around 12:40 AM that day, a freight train driven by 63-year-old Samvel A., a resident of Yerevan, collided with 79 head of livestock owned by 36-year-old Alif H., a resident of the village Marmarashen. The livestock was on the tracks when the accident occurred, resulting in their death.
