Rockfall Occurs on Yerevan-Meghri Highway
On September 4, at 12:41 PM, the "911" service reported that a rockfall had occurred at the 97th kilometer of the M-2 highway, in the Yerevan-Meghri section. Two rocks fell from a nearby slope onto the roadway, restricting traffic to one lane, necessitating the assistance of rescuers. This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
An operational group from the regional crisis management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations has been dispatched to the scene. Before the rescuers arrived at the call site, employees of the "Yeghegnadzor Road Maintenance" closed joint-stock company managed to remove one of the rocks (approximately 0.2 cubic meters) from the roadway.
The rescuers cordoned off the area and, with the assistance of the employees from the "Yeghegnadzor Road Maintenance" and local citizens, they removed the other rock (approximately 0.5 cubic meters) from the road.
