Ministry of Health Addresses Maternal Death Case

The spokesperson for the Minister of Health, Alina Nikoghosyan, wrote on her Facebook page that, unfortunately, today a maternal death was registered at the "Margaryan" Maternity Hospital.

"From the moment the Ministry of Health was informed about the incident, the Minister ordered that urgent additional specialists be invited to the maternity hospital, including an obstetrician-gynecologist and a reanimatologist, and a consultation was organized. An attempt was made to transfer the mother to another multidisciplinary medical center, but unfortunately, she was not transportable," she stated.

"I would also like to note that the Ministerial Council on Obstetrics and Gynecology continuously thoroughly discusses all maternal deaths, in order to identify their causes and to eliminate them as much as possible in the future. We are currently awaiting the results of the forensic examination. The Ministry expresses its deep condolences to the relatives," she added.
