Mature Men in Armavir Abuse Girls Aged 12-16: Alarm Raised

Lawyer Tsovinar Karapetyan writes on her Facebook page: “I am returning from Armavir city, deeply shaken and angry… A man, who was previously my client, approached me near the building of the Armavir Regional Court and shared a horrifying story. Some men aged 20-40 from the city and surrounding areas are establishing contact with girls aged 12-16 through social networks, luring them into meetings under false pretenses, taking pictures with them… abusing and stalking them. Victims' families are resorting to their own educational measures… This phenomenon continues to spread in an environment of impunity… When I asked why they do not report to the police, he replied, ‘How can we file a case? Everything happens right in front of the police’s eyes…’ Now the question is: Who is responsible, and why are the relevant authorities not taking action, including the church?”
