The Russian Ministry of Defense reported today that ballistic missiles were launched from two nuclear submarines. One missile, a 'Sineva', was launched from the polar region of the Northern Arctic Ocean, while the other, a new 'Bulava', was launched from the Barents Sea.
The liquid-fueled 'Sineva' intercontinental missile was fired from the 'Tula' submarine, while the solid-fueled 'Bulava' missile was launched from the 'Yuri Dolgoruky' submarine. The missiles are aimed at military test sites located to the north of Arkhangelsk and in the distant Kamchatka Peninsula.
