For 3 Days, Spayka Trucks Loaded with Armenian Peaches Are Stuck at the Upper Lars Checkpoint
For 3 days now, trucks loaded with Armenian peaches from the Spayka company have been stuck at the Upper Lars checkpoint, putting the peach harvest at risk. This was reported by the company's press service.
"The Spayka trucks loaded with Armenian peaches, which are subject to customs inspection, have continued to stand at the Upper Lars checkpoint for the third day now. The congestion continues. As we mentioned earlier, the area where the trucks should undergo customs inspection does not meet the conditions necessary for preserving agricultural products, primarily regarding the temperature regime required for unloading, loading, and preserving agricultural goods. The trucks loaded with peaches initially passed an X-ray check, the results of which were positive. After that, an inspection was scheduled, for which there is no justification. In any case, the company is ready to comply with the customs authority's requirements if they carry out the entire customs inspection process for the peaches (unloading, transporting to the inspection site, loading) while maintaining the necessary temperature regime," the statement reads.
