Fire Near Khosrov Forest, But Several Kilometers Away from Protected Area, Says Deputy Minister Vardan Melikyan

The Deputy Minister of Environment of Armenia, Vardan Melikyan, has responded on his Facebook page to media reports about a fire in Khosrov Forest. He stated, ‘There is a fire near Khosrov Forest, but it is several kilometers away from the protected area. At this moment, joint forces of the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Emergency Situations are on-site attempting to contain the spread of the fire. I urge everyone not to spread unverified information,’ he wrote.

It has already been confirmed that the fire has broken out in the Yeghheg Forest.
