Desecration in Kotayk Province: Over 60 Graves Defiled
For two days now, residents of the village of Zovuni in Kotayk Province have been keeping watch at the local cemetery. This has been reported by shamshyan.com. In a conversation with photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, villagers stated, "Two days ago, we visited our relatives' graves and witnessed vandalism. According to our information, emo groups performed some rituals and desecrated over 60 graves, turning them into a center for their ceremonies. Almost all gravestones and tombstones have been damaged, and we are now asking for experts to come and restore them to their former condition. But who would have thought that there would be such profound desecration? Just days ago, we heard that the same thing happened at the cemeteries in Nubarashen and Charentsavan. Now we are not sure whether to contact the police or not... we are keeping watch on our own to find the desecrator(s). There are graves whose owners are still unaware of this situation and will see the atrocities when they visit their relatives' graves in the coming days."
