Maybe the Post is Not Working Well: Archbishop Nathan on the Patriarch of Constantinople’s Silence
Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan, the director of the external relations and protocol department of the Mother See, commented on the absence of a response from the Patriarch of Constantinople, Sahak Mashalyan, regarding the trial of the Catholicos and six bishops.
In response to a question about how the Mother See views the fact that the Patriarch has not responded in any way to the initiation of judicial proceedings against the Catholicos and six bishops, Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan stated: “I hope the letter has not yet reached him.”
“Maybe the post is not working well,” he joked.
Moreover, Archbishop Nathan responded to a journalist's inquiry about circulating rumors suggesting that the Patriarch of Constantinople is allegedly claiming the Catholicosate: “I don’t know what they are claiming when the Catholicos, thank God, is alive and well, and may God grant him a long life.”
