Attempts to Subjugate the Church to Personal Will: Catholicos Garegin II's Firm Statement

The Supreme Patriarch announced in the Mother Cathedral that authorities and governmental structures are taking steps to subordinate the Church and limit its autonomy.

In his address to those gathered in the Mother Cathedral, the Supreme Patriarch emphasized that the actions taken by the authorities and governmental structures aim to undermine the Church's authority, restrict its autonomy, and subjugate the Church to their personal will.

He also noted that these actions are aligned with political temporary expediencies that seek to distort the perception of national identity, as well as sacred and revered symbols and memories.

It is noteworthy that during the first court session regarding the case involving the Catholicos and six bishops, Judge Hakob Manukyan refused to hear the case and recused himself.
