Who Are the Most Frequently Absent MPs?
According to the "Joghovurd" newspaper, as is known, sanctions are imposed on MPs for being absent from the National Assembly's plenary sessions, extraordinary meetings, and committee sessions.
The newspaper analyzed the list of absenteeism of the MPs during the period from January 14 to June 30, and found that the MP who missed the most plenary sessions is Gagik Tsarukyan, the president of the Prosperous Armenia Party, with 11 absences. As a result, 357,000 drams were withheld from his salary.
Following him is Sassoun Mikayelyan, an MP from the My Step faction, with 9 absences and 426,700 drams withheld.
The top three absentee MPs is rounded out by another member of the same faction, Koryun Mkrtchyan, who missed 8 plenary sessions, resulting in a withholding of 264,000 drams from his salary.
