Did the Head of Bagratashen Checkpoint Assault a Businessman? The RA State Revenue Committee Clarifies
A incident occurred at the Bagratashen checkpoint yesterday, on July 25. According to Hraparak.am, Gegham Vanunyan, the head of the Bagratashen customs, assaulted businessman Arthur Kharatyan along with his employees and prohibited the exit of his cargo from the customs territory. Reports indicate that the key to Kharatyan's truck was taken from him, and the vehicle was detained. The businessman has filed a report with the National Security Service and the State Revenue Committee.
The State Revenue Committee informed NEWS.am that an investigation is underway regarding the incident that took place on July 25 at the Bagratashen checkpoint. "The employees of the Eastern Customs Administration acted in accordance with the law, which can also be confirmed by eyewitnesses. Additionally, there are video recordings of the incident, which will allow the relevant authorities to ascertain the truth. All individuals who have exceeded their official powers and responsibilities will undoubtedly face accountability as stipulated by law," stated the State Revenue Committee.
The National Security Service informed the media that they have not received any report regarding the incident.
