I'm Going to Throw It in Their Faces: Will Sasun Mikayelyan Resign His Mandate?
The newspaper 'Past' reports that it has not escaped the attention of journalists that Sasun Mikayelyan, a member of the 'My Step' faction, has recently not been attending the National Assembly plenary sessions. It is said that he is quite upset and angry.
This all began when Mikayelyan did not defend the candidacy of Kotayk Governor Romanos Petrosyan in Abovyan, and his press secretary did not deny in our conversation that this issue would be discussed at the CPK.
Subsequently, Sasun Mikayelyan surprisingly was not elected to the new board of the CPK, despite being its acting president before his election as head of the Youth Organization.
According to the information from 'Past,' he has privately stated that he will soon 'throw' his parliamentary mandate 'in their faces.'
All day yesterday, we were unable to establish contact with the deputy. His phone number was unavailable. To verify the information, we tried to reach out to competent individuals. The leader of the 'My Step' faction, Lilit Makunts, did not respond to phone calls, and the reception stated that she was busy (in a meeting). We did not receive any feedback by the time the newspaper was sent to print.
The secretary of the faction, Hakob Simidyann, was also unavailable. The only person we could contact from the CPK board was MP Vahagn Hakobyan, who privately said, 'I cannot answer that question, although I think it is nonsense. Only Mr. Mikayelyan can provide a clear answer to that question.'
