Official Appointed at the End of Karapetyan's Tenure Removed from Position
The newspaper "Pats" reports that last week, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan dismissed Hayk Malkhasyan, head of the legal department of the Prime Minister's office, from his position. Notably, Malkhasyan was appointed by Karen Karapetyan at the twilight of his tenure (as acting prime minister) on April 27, 2018.
Questions arise about why Karapetyan made such a hasty appointment at the last moment and why Pashinyan decided to remove yet another ineffective official exactly one year later. While the reasons can be speculated, the fact remains that the Prime Minister is in search of closer associates.
