We Will Appeal the Decision in Sedrak Kocharyan's Case – NSS Director
The National Security Service (NSS) will appeal the court's decision regarding Sedrak Kocharyan's case. NSS Director Arthur Vanetsyan stated this during a conversation with journalists.
“We are preparing to appeal the court’s decision,” said Vanetsyan.
It is noteworthy that on February 19, 2019, the NSS released an official statement titled “Announcement Regarding the Criminal Case of Sedrak Kocharyan,” which mentioned that serious cases of tax evasion and the legalization of income obtained through criminal means had been uncovered, with direct involvement from the son of the second president of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan – Sedrak Kocharyan.
Sedrak Kocharyan's defense team argued that the NSS had violated the presumption of innocence with this announcement and filed a complaint with the court.
The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, chaired by Arman Hovhannisyan, granted the appeal of Sedrak Kocharyan's defenders on April 5.
