Alen Simonyan Receives Position at CSTO Parliamentary Assembly
Alen Simonyan, part of the Armenian parliamentary delegation, has been elected as the chairman of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly's Committee on Political and International Relations following a decision made during the Assembly in Saint Petersburg.
Commenting on the election, Piotr Ryabukhin, the responsible secretary of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, noted that it is unprecedented for a deputy speaker of any CSTO member state's parliament to be elected as the chairman of an Assembly committee.
"This speaks to the high level of trust our Armenian colleagues have in him,” he stated.
