Sanitek Company Fined Approximately 13 Million Drams
Sanitek Company has been fined approximately 13 million drams.
Jakob Karapetyan, the spokesperson for the Yerevan Mayor, wrote on his Facebook page:
“Due to shortcomings and uncompleted works, Sanitek Company has been fined around 13 million drams. Until now, the municipal authorities have refrained from imposing fines to avoid worsening the situation with Sanitek and to maintain the waste management in the city at an acceptable level while reaching a systemic solution. However, the waste management operator has been unable to fulfill its obligations. The municipality will remain consistent, and any shortcomings and uncompleted works will be appropriately addressed according to the contract from now on.”
We again apologize to the residents of Yerevan for the unsatisfactory state of waste collection and assure that daily efforts are being made to provide a radical solution to the problem as soon as possible. In the meantime, any uncollected waste from Sanitek is being gathered as much as possible with the involvement of private resources.
