Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry Responds to Tonoyan's Statement

The Azerbaijan Ministry of Defense has commented on the statement made by Armenia's Minister of Defense, David Tonoyan. According to Azerbaijan's Ministry of Defense, David Tonoyan "has no understanding of what strategy, attack, and defense are."

The Azerbaijan Ministry of Defense recalled that during the April 2016 events, Tonoyan was serving as the deputy minister of defense.

"His populist statements are aimed at an internal audience," states the Azerbaijan Ministry of Defense.

It is noteworthy that yesterday the defense minister declared, "The defensive army is suffering a defeat, and we do not intend to remain in defensive positions. If the situation leads to the resumption of military actions, we will not hesitate."
