After Two Failures, 80 Teachers Have Lost the Opportunity to Teach: Andreasyan
In the process of professional development for teachers, their needs are evaluated, including the level of subject knowledge. This was announced by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Zhanna Andreasyan.
According to her, testing is being conducted to assess teachers' subject knowledge. If a teacher participates in voluntary certification but fails to achieve a successful result, the state provides them with the opportunity for retraining.
If, after retraining, the teacher is still unable to meet the required threshold, they can no longer continue to teach. Andreasyan stated that there is already such a decision regarding around 80 teachers at this time.
The minister emphasized that this assessment is not about the personal or human qualities of the teacher. “One can be the best person but still have issues with knowledge,” said Zhanna Andreasyan.
