Russian Strike Completely Destroys Khortytsa Vodka Factory; 4 Million Bottles of Product Lost
The Khortytsa vodka factory, owned by Global Spirits, has been completely destroyed due to a Russian attack in Zaporizhia. The company stated that the production facility is no longer recoverable, according to Forbes Ukraine.
According to Global Spirits, the factory was hit by four strikes, and the ensuing fire lasted for at least three hours. As a result of the attack, the company has lost approximately 3-4 million bottles of finished product, for which excise tax had already been paid. Some of the product was fully burned, while others were melted and are subject to destruction.
The average price of a bottle was reported to be around 100 hryvnias, equivalent to approximately 817 drams. Earlier, authorities in the Zaporizhia region reported that a strike was delivered to one of the region's enterprises on August 27, causing damage to the production facilities and igniting a fire.
Global Spirits produces vodka, brandy, and wine. The company's products are exported to more than 87 countries. The total amount of damage to the company has not yet been disclosed.
