As the new school year approaches, special attention should be paid to children's road safety. This is the recommendation of the Ministry of Health.

Help children learn and observe the basic rules of road traffic safety: together, choose the safest route to school in advance, cross the road only at pedestrian crossings or safe sections, before crossing the road—stop, look around, and listen, and do not rush or run while crossing the road. Continue to carefully observe traffic until you reach the other side.

During dark hours, opt for clothing that is white, brightly colored, or contains reflective elements (for example, reflective stripes or backpacks) so that the child is more visible to drivers.

When using public transport, wait on the sidewalk, at a safe distance from the roadway. First, wait for passengers to get off, then board the transportation. Do not distract the driver's attention.

After getting off transport, do not rush to cross the road immediately; wait until it has moved away and the approaching traffic is visible.

To make children noticeable on the roads while cycling, use a properly sized and securely fastened helmet, place children in age-appropriate car seats, and always buckle seatbelts for those aged seven and older, even for the shortest distances.

Children follow the example of adults: always observe road safety rules and encourage children to do the same.

Let’s start September safely.
