The preliminary investigation into the case of soil deterioration in the riverbank areas of the Pambak River has been completed. This was reported by the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

According to the data obtained during the investigation, K.N. had been dumping mixed soil on the riverbank areas using trucks from July-August 2022 until spring 2024, subsequently leveling it with agricultural machinery.

The Investigative Committee states that these actions were carried out without the necessary construction permits and without changing the intended use of the land. As a result, the fertile layer of the soil has been damaged.

The damage caused to the state has been assessed at 2,319,668 Armenian drams. K.N. has been subjected to public criminal prosecution for soil degradation, and a lien has been placed on his property in accordance with the assessed amount of damage.

The case has been forwarded to the prosecutor's office with an indictment for subsequent submission to the court.

Notice: The accused in a crime is considered innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedure established by the Criminal Procedure Code, with a legally binding court ruling.
