Washington's Historic Decision Regarding Syria
The U.S. has officially revoked Syria's status as a state sponsor of terrorism, according to a statement from the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
“In accordance with President Donald Trump's promise to ease sanctions on Syria, the State Department has today removed Syria from the list of state sponsors of terrorism,” the statement from the Treasury Department reads.
Syria had been on this list since 1979.
