Flood Disrupts Operations at London Heathrow Airport
London's Heathrow Airport has warned of operational disruptions due to flooding caused by a pipe leak in the airport's vicinity. This was reported by BBC.
Access to Terminals 2 and 3 has been restricted due to water accumulation. Passengers departing from or arriving at these terminals are currently unable to use the roadways.
The airport has advised travelers to use rail and underground services and to avoid driving to Heathrow if possible. “Our teams are working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience caused,” a representative from the airport stated.
Heathrow also reported that the leak has been isolated, and repair work is ongoing. The disruption occurred during school holiday periods, which is one of the busiest times of the year for Heathrow.
According to airport data, July 19 was the busiest day of the year, with approximately 267,000 passengers passing through Heathrow on that day.
