Kyiv Bridge to Open Sooner Than Expected, City Hall

The traffic section of the Kyiv Bridge will open in just a few days, ahead of the scheduled date. This was announced by the Yerevan City Hall.

The primary goal of all the work carried out as part of the bridge's reconstruction is to enhance road safety and ensure more secure and comfortable conditions for citizens. It has been reported that an asphalt concrete top layer has been installed, sidewalks on both sides have been asphalted, new galvanized barriers have been set up, and drainage and waterproofing systems have been restored and implemented. Deformation joints have been restored, and electrical cables from the lighting poles have been dismantled and relocated to inspection wells beneath the sidewalk.

After the opening of the traffic section, the remaining reconstruction work on the bridge will continue. This will include cleaning damaged sections of the supports, repairing damaged reinforcements, restoring the arch section, and other tasks.

A special polymer-concrete material has been used in the deformation joint area, which is being applied in Armenia for the first time. This material is designed to minimize shocks and vibrations during the passage of vehicles, ensuring the safety of the bridge's operation and making traffic more comfortable.

The Kyiv Bridge has been closed to traffic since June 17. It was originally announced that it would open on August 29, but later the Yerevan City Hall announced that the bridge would open sooner than scheduled.
