The total volume of frozen Russian assets in Switzerland reached 8.5 billion Swiss francs, approximately $10.4 billion, as of June 2026. This was reported by Fabian Mayenfisch, an official representative of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), to TASS.

One year ago, the volume of frozen assets was 7.4 billion Swiss francs, around $8.4 billion.

“As of June 1, 2026, 8.5 billion Swiss francs in financial assets are frozen in Switzerland,” Mayenfisch stated.

In addition to financial assets, 14 properties belonging to individuals and organizations under sanctions, as well as sports and luxury cars, artworks, furniture, and musical instruments, have also been frozen.

Separate from this amount, the reserves and assets of the Central Bank of Russia are also blocked in Switzerland. As of June 2026, their volume was 6.8 billion francs, approximately $8.3 billion. A year ago, this figure was 7.2 billion francs, around $8.1 billion.

Mayenfisch did not respond to the question of whether Switzerland is participating in discussions regarding the relocation of frozen Russian assets in Euroclear to a new EU depositary structure or using them for Ukraine's needs. However, he noted that Switzerland is closely monitoring international discussions on the frozen assets of the Central Bank of Russia. Officials consider it important that any potential decisions comply with the rule of law and principles of international law, as well as ensure financial stability.
