Nuclear Strike to Be Launched: Kim Jong Un Adopts New Law
According to new amendments made to North Korea's constitution, the country has the right to launch a nuclear strike in the event of a threat to the life of its leader, Kim Jong Un. As reported by Yonhap News Agency, a relevant addition has been made to the country's fundamental law.
The South Korean National Intelligence Service indicates that the new regulations imply the automatic deployment of nuclear weapons if the command of North Korea's nuclear forces is threatened by an attack from 'hostile forces.' This provision allows for an immediate response that does not require subsequent coordination.
These changes come amid heightened tensions resulting from conflicts in the Middle East. North Korean authorities expect that these measures will deter other nuclear states, particularly the United States, and ensure the stability of the government in crisis situations.
