Zelensky Responds to Putin's Ceasefire Proposal
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has responded to Russian President Vladimir Putin's ceasefire proposal related to May 9. In a message on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian president stated that he has ordered to establish contact with the team of U.S. President Donald Trump to clarify the details of Russia's offer.
“Let’s find out what exactly is being discussed—whether it’s about ensuring security for a few hours of a parade in Moscow or something more,” noted the Ukrainian leader.
He declared that Ukraine is striving for peace and is carrying out necessary diplomatic work to genuinely end this war. “We propose a long-term ceasefire that ensures reliable security for people and sustainable peace,” Zelensky emphasized.
Additionally, he mentioned that Ukraine is ready to work in any worthy and effective format in this direction.
It is noteworthy that, according to Yuri Ushakov, Putin's assistant on international affairs, Vladimir Putin is ready to declare a ceasefire prior to the May 9 parade.
